Seasoned Hardwood delivered in December, January, February, and March? The answer is yes! During winter months it’s normal for firewood to arrive with surface moisture from rain, snow, or freezing weather during transport and handling. Surface moisture on wood delivered does not necessarily mean the wood itself is unseasoned or will not burn. For best results, we always recommend stacking firewood with proper airflow and bringing a small amount indoors ahead of use so the wood burns optimally during the winter months.

At Rondout Tree Service, we include a generous amount of natural kindling with every cord of firewood we deliver, because many customers often ask how to properly start a fire without using cardboard, trash, or chemical starters that can damage a chimney or wood burning stove over time. We intentionally provide a balanced mix of splits and natural kindling as part of our fire starter system, designed to help you light clean, reliable fires. If you prefer larger spilts only, just request it when ordering and we will remove the kindling prior to delivery. Otherwise, every order arrives ready to burn with ample kindling for the entirety of the burn season.
